Working in coordination with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), Northwestern Medicine will be transitioning to phase 1b of the COVID-19 vaccination effort. NM will begin inviting designated NM patients age 65 and older to be vaccinated. Invitations will be staggered according to age and ZIP code to ensure equity and efficiency.

Eligible patients will receive an invitation via their preferred communication method — text, email or phone — set in MyNM, powered by MyChart to schedule their vaccination appointment.
Please take the two following actions to ensure you will receive your vaccination invitation when it is sent to you:
- Check or set your communication preferences in MyNM:
- Sign in to MyNM (mychart.nm.org)
- Under the “Profile” menu on top, select “Communications”
- Click on “Appointment Communication” to expand settings.
- Click on the communication-type column heading – email, text, call or mail – to activate or deactivate the options.
- A purple icon indicates the communication method is active and you will be contacted using that communication method.
- A white icon with a black outline indicates the communication method is inactive and you WILL NOT be contacted using that communication method.
- Options can be activated individually by clicking on the icons individually to make them purple or white based on your preference.
- Verify your contact information
- Scroll down below the Communication Preferences to “Contact Information” at the bottom of the page.
- Review the information to ensure it is correct.
- Click the “Edit” button to update information.
- Click the “Save Changes” button to save your changes.
If you have never used MyNM, please setup an account:
- Go to MyNM (mychart.nm.org)
- Clicki on the “SIGN UP NOW” button on the right-hand side of the page
- Once you’re in MyNM, follow the instructions above to set your communication preferences and contact information.
