About Dr. O’Connor

A Personal Message to My Patients

about dr. o'connor Over the years as your physician, it has been my privilege to care for you, and I have felt honored to share in your lives and experience meaningful events together. Many of you have been my patients since I first started practicing medicine, and I am truly humbled by your loyalty. For my newer patients, I am forever grateful for your trust in me. I consider each and every one of you deserving of the best medical care I can provide. It is the daily contact with my patients that makes me a better and stronger physician.

As I am sure you know, healthcare in our country is undergoing a sea change…creating uncertainty for both physicians and patients alike. Over the past several years the time meant for patient care has been increasingly taken up with administrative tasks making it daunting and sometimes unachievable to visit those of you who are in the hospital or to timely accommodate patients with acute needs. Personal time with my patients never seems to be sufficient, and I am often left frustrated, wondering whether forces beyond my control could compromise the standards that I strive to achieve each and every day. You, as members of my practice, deserve more and better.

In 2014, after much thought and careful consideration, I made the decision to change my medical practice to a more personalized, patient-focused model. This change to concierge medicine has ensured that I will always have the time necessary to listen carefully and compassionately, to think critically, to coordinate with other medical professionals involved with your care, and preserve what I hope you have come to trust as the highest quality healthcare.

It has been an exciting and fulfilling chapter in my professional career.  I am truly privileged and honored to be your personal physician.

Sean D. O’Connor, MD, SC
